Guests: Davor Pacemski, Rick Dubov, and Michael Edward

HOUR 1 AUDIO: HOUR 2 AUDIO:

Though we marvel today at Burj Khalifa and other modern  architectural feats, there are perhaps no structures in human history more  amazing than the pyramids of ancient times. While the pyramids at Giza and  throughout Europe remain the most famous, there are many other of this wonders of ancient engineering throughout Mesoamerica, many of which are much greater in  scale than their Egyptian counterparts. But what was the significance of these pyramids? What roles did they play in Mesoamerican life?

This week on One Cell One Light Radio, Dr. Staninger is  joined by art historian Rick Dubov, ancient texts scholar Michael Edward, and  student of ancient prophecies Davor Pacemski, to discuss the pyramids built in  Mesoamerica over two thousand years ago and their possible meaning to the  cultures that constructed them.

More than 3,500 years ago, Mesoamerican tribes migrated into what is now North and Central America. Along the way, they erected these  pyramids as monuments to their gods, though they often also served as a temple for prayer and the hub of a surrounding city, similar to the role that castles played in Medieval Europe over a thousand years later. Though many range in  size, some are enormous by ancient standards, with the Great Read the rest of this entry

-excerpt from Ghostbusters

HOUR 1 AUDIO: HOUR 2 AUDIO:

One of the most celebrated and beloved comedies of all time, the 1984 film Ghostbusters told the story of paranormal investigators who go into business as a ghost removal service. So if you’re plagued by pesky poltergeists, obnoxious odors, nonsensical noises or continuous cold spots, Who ya gonna call? The Ghost Buster Gals.

This week on One Cell One Light Radio, Dr. Staninger welcomes Ronnie Rennae Foster and Laura Lee Mistycah, known collectively as the Ghost Buster Gals. For over 10 years, these two friends have offered “fast, friendly ghost removal” to clients who have experienced strange happenings, smells and changes  in temperature in their homes, business or even automobiles. No ancient civilization has excited our imagination and curiosity quite as much as the Egyptians. From the spectacular construction of their pyramids to their advances in medicine, the remnants of their civilization have fueled speculation and study of our ancient world. But perhaps their most remarkable achievement is their use of language through hieroglyphics. The meaning, dialect and structure of this advanced language is still being studied today and one of its most mysterious symbols is the Eye of Horus.

Often thought of as nothing more than food, the mighty  mushroom has  actually been used for many years in traditional medicine in the  treatment of  several diseases. In fact, mushrooms have been a subject of modern  medical research since the 1960s, where most modern medical studies concern the  use of mushroom extracts, rather than whole mushrooms. Some mushroom extracts  have been found to modulate immune system responses and inhibit tumor growth.  But recent research has found that maitake mushrooms in particular can be used  in treating breast cancer in women.

Joining Dr. Staninger was Michael Edward, who continues to be involved in the research into the health and toxicity problems following the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil disaster.  During the first hour, Dr. Staninger and Mr. Edward discussed a paper presented at the conference, bringing to light details about the “fluffy white goo” which appeared in the water and on beaches after remediation in the Gulf of Mexico.

At the conference, Dr. Staninger lectured on the topic of Nanotechnology vs. Environmental Technology, which branched over to this week’s episode of One Cell One Light™ Radio. Continuing the previous week’s discussion on the ethical implications of nanotechnology, Dr. Staninger discussed with Michael Edward the importance of health workers, environmentalists and safety workers to recognize the difference between emerging nanotechnologies and established hazardous chemicals.

Most human-made nanoparticles do not appear in nature, so living organisms may not have appropriate means to deal with nanowaste. It is one great challenge to nanotechnology: how to deal with its nanopollutants and nanowaste.  As a still-developing technology that involves all scientific Read the rest of this entry
