This week on One Cell One Light® Radio, FIRST HOUR, Dr. Hildy® hosts a very special show on detoxification from heavy metals. Unfortunately, for those of you hoping for a discussion on Black Sabbath and Metallica, you’ll have to keep waiting. These are literal heavy metals, but like their musical counterparts, some of them are doing their best to pollute our minds and bodies.
Cathy (Flyer – Cathy)and Susan, ( Susan – Registered Nurse – Bio )Certified Magnetic Harmonic Vortex Therapists, will join Dr. Hildy® and they will discuss heavy metals such as iron, cobalt, copper, mercury, plutonium, lead and zincand their effects on our bodies. While some of these are essential to our health, such as iron, others can cause serious health issues when present in high levels. Some metals are extremely toxic, even in the most minute dose, whereas others have very low toxicity, even in high doses. However, dependent on the dose, all metals can become toxic to the body. Iron can cause severe oxidative damage, copper may compromise liver function and visual acuity, selenium and arsenic have been known to be used to murder people and so on.

Dr. Staninger will focus on non-invasive methods of detoxification, as during a detox program the patient may also temporarily become allergic to the various substances that help to carry out the toxins. Every time the detoxifying substance is given, mercury emerges from its hiding places into the more superficial tissues of the body, where mercury can now be detected by the immune system. The immune system however is fooled into thinking that the detoxifying substance itself is the enemy. The immune system now starts to react to the detoxifying substance as if it was the mercury itself.

Since the dawn of time, we as humans have strove to find something that will outlast our time on this planet. As we learned to create art, we found an outlet that not only allowed us to leave a legacy, but also to express ourselves creatively. We continued to find more and more mediums by which to express ourselves, and in doing so, our ideas spread. Pieces of art changed hands, first bartered, then sold, and our ideas spread even more. And the faster our ideas spread, the more easily they were to be duplicated by someone else. Then came the great debate – once an artist puts their idea out into the world, does their idea still belong to them? This week on One Cell One Light Radio, Dr. Hildy welcomes Intellectual Property Attorney Victor N. King to discuss the nature of intellectual property and how it can be protected from exploitation and theft. A graduate of the University of Arizona and Valaparaiso University School of Law, Mr. King has worked as a patent attorney in Seattle and now has his own firm specializing in the protection of his clients’ intellectual property in that city.
But what is intellectual property, or IP? Property refers to creations
of the mind: inventions, literary and artistic works, and symbols, names, images, and designs used in commerce. IP is divided into two categories: industrial property, which includes inventions (patents), trademarks, industrial designs, and geographic indications of source; and copyright, which includes literary and artistic works such as novels, poems and plays, films, musical works, artistic works such as drawings, paintings, photographs and sculptures, and architectural designs.
As the internet has grown and we are fully into the Information Age, intellectual property has become a more contentious issue than ever. Perhaps the most famous recent example is the Recording Industry Association of America’s campaign against file sharing over peer-to-peer computer networks. After the software Napster spread like wildfire, users could easily find free, downloadable music. The RIAA filed thousands of lawsuits against those sharing these files, citing that these recordings are the intellectual property of their owners (whether they be the record label, artist or publishing company) and sharing them with others constitutes theft. While music piracy has taken a sharp downturn thanks to easily accessible and affordable downloads on the iTunes store and other sites, there are still many sites that allow visitors to download software, television shows, music and full movies without paying a dime. Through all this, the question remains?”

In the summertime in Florida, there are three certainties: it will be humid, there will be a hurricane somewhere in the state, and there will be mosquitoes. Everywhere, mosquitos. While most prove harmless and leave you scratching your skin for a day or two, there are other dangers to mosquitoes as they can carry diseases such as West Nile and encephalitis. But as seemingly innocuous as most mosquitoes are, Florida is in danger of being consumed by something more sinister.
This week on One Cell, One Light Radio, Dr. Hildy welcomes returning guest Rosalind Peterson to discuss the Gallinipper mosquito. Approximately twenty times larger than a normal mosquito, the Gallinipper’s bite hurts and they have a taste for human blood – like a six-legged flying vampire.
Their name stems from the most likely apocryphal claim that if they nip you, they’ll get a gallon of your blood. While the image of a two inch long bug suddenly so swollen with blood that it weighs twelve pounds may seem humorous, these mosquitoes have been known to chase children and adults.
While the danger of the Gallinipper may seem real these descriptions, it is mostly harmless. Its bite hurts, but the bug only resides in low-lying areas prone to flooding – near a swamp or fields. These bugs also don’t carry human disease, so the only real concern is the animal’s painful bite should one land on you. However, due to its size, you will most likely notice it before it has a chance to bite.
The real danger, though, comes from the methods used to combat these flying
menaces. For years, local governments in Florida and other areas would spray toxic pesticides in neighborhoods to prevent mosquitoes and other bugs from becoming a nuisance and spreading disease – ironically causing damage to some people’s nervous and other bodily systems. The question becomes at what point are returns on pest control diminishing when it comes to human health and safety?

Increasingly, the industrialization of our society has made it difficult for humans to procreate. The incredible number of toxins found in everyday foods and other products only serve to poison our bodies, making it more difficult to keep the gene pool as healthy as possible and to keep the birth rate up. In the film Children of Men starring Clive Owen and Michael Caine, we are introduced to a scenario in which humanity faces the possibility of extinction, as no new children have been born in almost 18 years. While a bit of fiction, this has happened to a lesser extreme before, and could very easily happen again – unless we take steps to prevent it.

Rightfully so, we often honor the heroes that put themselves in harm’s way to protect us, though perhaps not as often as we should. Firefighters, police, and our nation’s armed forces among others all brave the various dangers of their occupations to ensure that we are able to be safe and well-protected from said dangers. However, unsung are the heroes who do not wear uniforms or do not get parades in their honor, but put themselves at risk to protect us against more common, yet less-seen dangers.
This week on One Cell One Light Radio, Dr. Hildy® focuses on these individuals, members of the National Registry of Environmental Professionals, or NREP, and will 
welcome Dr. Richard Young, the Executive Director of NREP to discuss the dangers that NREP members face, their long-term effects and a new method of protecting these individuals developed by Dr. Hildy® herself.
On a daily basis, NREP members are exposed to a myriad of toxic and harmful chemicals. These individuals may be exposed to hazardous materials and toxic substances in the field, their travels and perhaps even their home. And, though there are protective measures in place, the trained professional who uses respiratory protection and even the famous Tyvek ® suit may be at a greater risk, because they are exposed to large amounts of these toxins throughout their professional career. Additionally, many times the results of analytical tests from environmental sampling come to the professional as much as three weeks later after working on a site.
